Indulge Notes: Themes

lightpointOk, I'm considering expanding 'Indulge' a little bit. You can blame some of this on watching a 'Let's Play' of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. O_O
Themes in Indulge...Meaning the 7 Deadly Sins
Inspiration from 'Amnesia: The Dark Descent' for some of the freaky stuff in Sidious’ lair. Because that atmosphere of slow dread, hopelessness, old ghosts and blood? Hello there, Dark Side! ;_;
Rey thinks she’s seen evil? How will she react when confronted with capital E Evil?
He might try to ease her into it. WILL IT WORK? HOW DARK WILL REY GO?
Yeesh, I need to put more warnings on this one, don’t I? Or maybe split it off into another fic – this might not really fit the overall plot/purpose of Indulge.
...Then again, it is about capital L Lust. And the other 6 Deadly Sins.
Let’s review:
Lust
Greed
Wrath
Pride
Gluttony
Envy
Sloth
Lust: Present and accounted for O_O
Greed: Sidious, though he keeps it under control – greedy for power. Rey, also for power, with a penchant for luxury.
Wrath: Sidious vs. EVERYONE. Rey vs. Everyone who’s ever hurt her/most of Jakku…but with a thread of righteous fury over people who hurt (irony irony irony)
Pride: SIDIOUS TIMES INFINITY…Rey’s not quite there yet.
Gluttony: Duh. The other obvious sin used in this fic. IT’S IN THE TITLE. Sith keep it under control, though, until they can unleash the proverbial Kraken. Rey’s been repressing the normal version of this (good food is nice, as are comfy sheets, and YAY physical affection!).
Envy: This time, it’s Rey. Envious of people with stuff, sure, but also of people with what she used to crave over all else: Love. For Sidious, this is an extension of Gluttony and a sense of entitlement: ‘The Galaxy is MINE, DAMMIT!’
Sloth: Definitely not Rey. Sidious shows some of this after he became Emperor…In the sense of complacency, overconfidence, and underestimating the Skywalkers. Dude, one does not sit on one’s ass when one reaches the top of the pyramid!
So HMMMMMMM I HAVE THINGS TO THINK ABOUT
